Paste Bangkok

The venue is hard to find and location odd in a shopping mall. The reservation time a lot give to us left us with little time to eat with ease before the kitchen closed at 2200. The food is refined. The flavours are delicate yet full. Portions perfect. Presentation was too basic overall. Kind of like what friends would do at a dinner party. The wine was no chilled well and often had to ask for refills. The air conditioning is so strong you need to sit in odd positions to one another, otherwise you will freeze to death. A real big mistake. The window design choice is unique to say the least. Giggle worthy. The view of the mega mall opposite is a real buzz kill. But the taste of the food overall is a winner

We enjoyed the tasting menu combined with a wine pairing. The food and service were amazing and we felt very welcome. We arrived a bit early but were seated right away and offered a refreshing passion fruit drink. The service is very professional but still took the time to make some small talk and we even had some jokes together. The food was delicious, the taste was complex and every bite had something special. The floss with watermelon was an especially surprising combination. The tom yum soup with braised pork was delicious and very spicy but doable for me as a westerner. Great location with a good view of the skyline and busy street below. If I'm ever back in Bangkok I will definitely return. Thanks for a great evening.

I am expecting a fine dinning experience per price showing, however, I was a little bit disappointed. First of all, the cocktail I ordered "the kiss of the dragon' was a surprise. However, the taste of some dishes were not a good match. As the first dish to begin on the tasting menu, the watermelon wasn't a good match for the salmon. It brings the fishy taste of the salmon instead. If the chef intends to use local food(watermelon) which will need to use something else to bring the sweetness and refreshing elements of it. I will prefer using squids instead whereas salmon have too strong seafood flavor. The ‘Hor Mok’ soufflé is the best dish among the others. Good match with the texture and taste. The scallop dish is average which I am expecting larger scallop with more juice. The one I had wasn't overcook, but I think because of the size which I didn't taste enough juice. The sweet and sour soup tastes good and just a good match with crispy pork to reduce the grease aftertaste. The lobster dish I had also left me some fishy flavor in my first bite. Don't know if that's the food quality issue or what. The main course are the most disappointed ones. Coral trout was not in hot temperature which I couldn't taste the freshness of the fish but dry and fishy. The beef cheek should use US beef instead. The Australian beef is too light and the strong curry flavors totally overwhelmed beef taste. Not a bit beef flavor I can tell. And the presentation of the main course to share isn't up to fine dinning standard. Server holds a big bowl of rice and toss on the plate in front of the customer which doesn't looks good. They should have prepared the rice on individual plates before bring them out. Lastly, the complimentary chocolate should be put in identical order for customer to taste from light to most strong flavor. The first tray was being put in good order but now the second tray. Chef should have paid attention to details. As a fine dinning, I believe we should get a new set of utensil for each course. Paste fails to do so. As fine dinning, Paste is not up to the standard for food quality nor service. The raw food quality isn't the best although all the sauces of courses are great. I don't mind they raise the price a little bit to get some 'grade A' food to serve instead of ruining the whole course.

Very delicious & creative dishes. Refined atmosphere and very attentive & professional staff. We loved all the special touches of creativity and food combinations. Really a top notch restaurant! Will definitely come again! Thank you for this amazing experience. Highly reccomend trying out the black cod, the crab curry and the scallops.

We tried the dinner tasting menu. It started out great with the food presentation and overall taste. The first few courses were very good. The lobster salad was inconsistent. The two plates of lobster tasted differently. One was fresher than the other one. The main course was the major disappointment. The fish was luke warm and not fresh at all. The beef cheek was ok, nothing special. The sauce overwhelmed the taste of the beef. If they can substitute with USA beef, it might make a difference. Rice was given by 2 big scoops. Not what I expected in a high end tasting menu restaurant. The rice should be packed in a rice bowl upsidedown. Overall the food was average and the presentation was surprising bad from a high end restaurant. One more than, the restaurant address was listed inside a mall, but didn't stated on which floor. For the new tourists, it's a bit difficult to find. BTW,It's on the top floor

The food is unparalleled but severely overpriced, even with luxe ingredients and gorgeous plating. That said, Paste should be on your short list of fine dining Thai restaurants in Bangkok. Best enjoyed with the set menu option. All dishes are sophisticated versions of Thai classics with pristine components and precision cooking. Curries are subtle and some of the best in Bangkok. Pomelo salad is a show-stopper in both presentation and flavor. Service is excellent in every way and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and pampered. Wine list short but functional. Great drink choices Room is gorgeous. Around $150 usd per person with wine. A lot for Bangkok but it’s one of the best in town.
